I guess we all see so many of them, and its hard to get enthused about just one more Silver Gull. But they, I have to concede are the masters of the air.

I have to agree DJ, they are”only” Silver Gulls, but they are fantastic to practice inflight photography on. I for one, need plenty of practice and so have taken hundreds of photos of these humble, yet masterful, flying machines.

G,day Andrew, tis true, they make great practice subjects, and the untold numbers I’ve deleted attests to the that.
But, I really like the bird for its audacity and its ability to deal with and profit from the human condition.
They are quite destructive of small shorebird breeding locations and more Banded Plover chicks are lost to them than the more maligned “Dog on beach”.
Their airborne agility is always a pleasure to sit and watch.
